Green Quality Function Deployment and Fuzzy Multi-attribute Utility Theory-based Cost Estimation for Environmentally Conscious Product Development
نویسندگان
چکیده
There are increasing global demands for environmental friendly products. Green Quality Function Deployment – III (GQFD – III) is an innovative tool aiding in the development of environmentally conscious products and processes. An improved version of GQFD – III, Green Quality Function Deployment – IV (GQFD – IV) has been developed in this study. Its improvement over GQFD – III is that the life cycle cost is estimated using the Fuzzy MultiAttribute Utility Theory (FMAUT) method. FMAUT costing is an excellent cost estimation method at the early design stage in product development. It is more effective than other traditional methods because it does not require detailed data on manufacturing processes of the product and it can handle attributes with uncertainty and incompleteness in nature. In a case study, life cycle costs of coffeemakers were estimated with errors of less than 7% using this new cost estimation model. In GQFD – IV, with the considerations of quality, environment and cost, analytical hierarchy process (AHP) is used for product concept selection and is found to be effective.

Multi-objective optimization approach for cost management during product design at the conceptual phase
The effective cost management during the conceptual design phase of a product is essential to develop a product with minimum cost and desired quality. The integration of the methodologies of quality function deployment (QFD), value engineering (VE) and target costing (TC) could be applied to the continuous improvement of any product during product development. To optimize customer satisfaction ...
متن کاملUsing Linear Physical Programming in Optimizing Fuzzy Quality Function Deployment
Quality function deployment (QFD) is a customer-driven quality management and product development system for achieving higher customer satisfaction. It is necessary to determine relationships between customer requirements (CRs) and technical requirements (TRs), as well as correlation among the TRs themselves. Such data are usually ambiguous and fuzzy and people have different judgments about th...

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is an objective method for priority determination of decision making units (DMUs) with the same multiple inputs and outputs. DEA is an efficiency estimation technique, but it can be used for solving many problems of management such as rankig of DMUs. Many researchers have found similarity between DEA and MCDM techniques. One of the earliest techniques in MCDM is...
